Style Folks of the Day

Caught these folks walking around Downtown Philly while I was out with the girls.

Caught this chico right here flipping through his sidekick on the corner. He surely wasn’t afraid to accessorize and he surely wasn’t afraid of the camera, asking me to take multiple pics of him in various poses. Needless to say he was fierce rocking a fanny pack (unusually not tack on him i must say) and boots made for posing, er… walking.

She was super cute. Caught this fashionista waiting to cross the street with her girlfriend. I say her outfit was very ala Blair Waldorf, classic and chic and sporting the signature healdband, yet her makeup and hair was natural, channeling Serena van der Woodson. The best of both styles, no?

TOPSHOP!!!

So over a week ago, I had just gotten out of work and was on my way to my acting class  when I some really funky and rad chick was handing out these envelopes. Turns out she was handing out free gift cards to Topshop with any amount between $50 to $500!!!! Since Topshop opened this past Thursday and I moved back to Philly the Tuesday before I missed the coveted opening day. So I'm still clueless as to the amount on that card. So I must make a trip back to NYC soon cuz momma needs a new summer wardrobe!

Betsey Goes Back To Her Roots

I'm sure you have all heard of the phrase "Out with the old and in with new." Well it seems as if Betsey Johnson is tweaking this phrase into "In with the old and make it new." Opening Ceremony is teaming up with Betsey Johnson to release The Betsey Johnson Archive, old designs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s made for the modern girl. This new collection, which will be released in August, will feature Betsey's contribution to the American fashion industry only updated and recreated by Umberto Leon and Carol Lim, the Opening Ceremony founders themselves. You will see modern day versions of her initial mod designs worn by Edie Sedgwick and Twiggy to the punk dresses and jeans she created for Pattie Smith and the Ramones.

I don't know about you guys but I will definitely be
anticipating August. Being one heavily influenced by mod and punk fashion, this
is like a dream come true to me. I just recently applied for a job at the Betsey Johnson flagship store and anticipating a call back. Being one of my favorite designers, I couldn't ask for more!!!!
